Grading and Report Cards

In Houston ISD (HISD), students are on a six-week grading cycle, with report cards issued shortly after each period concludes and progress reports sent at the midpoint. Parents can access these reports, along with daily grades and attendance, through the HISD Connect portal or the PowerSchool app. For academic credit, students must pass with a 70% or above and meet attendance requirements.

Grading Period:

HISD uses six-week grading periods for all schools. 

Report Card Distribution:

Report cards are sent to parents after the end of each six-week grading period. 

Progress Reports:

Preliminary progress reports may be sent to parents at the midpoint of a grading period if a student is not progressing satisfactorily.
